Docker swarm traefik + letsencrypt problems with safari

I've got a docker swarm cluster using traefik for SSL termination. This works on all browsers except for Safari in some cases. When browsing from my phone over wifi, everything works as expected. When browsing over 4G I get the message 'Safari can't open this page because safari can't establish a secure connection.
There also is another issue, a colleague of mine cannot access the services on his macbook with safari, but he can with chrome.
Does anyone have some pointers what could cause this? I've checked all config, checked and tested the certificates. Nothing shows up. I've tried this with multiple domains, all the same behaviour.
