My server was working great and all of sudden I began getting the following errors. I am not able to access my DB through phpmyadmin either. This is a new issue for me and I am a bit confused with all of the information that is out there.:

ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

/etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/mysqld.cnf

#binlog_do_db = include_database_name
#binlog_ignore_db = include_database_name

  • @JNevill I went back in for the the first time, since yesterday. I checked the status of mysql server and it was running. I was then able to start and stop and restart the server and login. I have no idea why I was having so many issues yesterday.
