Is `tf.metrics.accuracy` suitable for `train-test-split` way during the training stage?

0

In tensorflow, one usually uses the tf.metrics.accuracy to show the batch-wisely accumulated accuracy in the training stage. Each batch contributes to the updated accuracy in the forward phase per step.

What about those datasets that previously separate the train data batches from the test data batches? Do we have to merge them together and feed them as a whole to the estimator and let the tensorflow decide which portion to use for the testing during the training stage?
