How to convert a primary key field in identuty with migrations of Entity Framework
I have this Model
public class Ubicacion
{
public int Id { get; set; }
[Required]
public Decimal CoordenadaX { get; set; }
[Required]
......
}
But when I create the Migration the Id Primary Key is not Identity
CreateTable(
"dbo.Ubicacion",
c => new
{
Id = c.Int(nullable: false),
CoordenadaX = c.Decimal(nullable: false, precision: 18,
I have tried this another migration
public partial class UbicacionIdIdentity : DbMigration
{
public override void Up()
{
AlterColumn("dbo.Ubicacion", "Id", c => c.Int(nullable: false, identity: true));
}
public override void Down()
{
AlterColumn("dbo.Ubicacion", "Id", c => c.Int(nullable: false, identity: false));
}
}
But the filed still is not Identity
Any idea please?

In the create table function, the identity: true parameter is missing. In the Up() migration, are you sure it is correct? usually columns have to be recreated in order for them to become identity, so I'd expect some exception to be thrown.
