How can Intellij automatically recognize the source files in my local repo?

0

I have a Maven-based Intellij project. Source files are in my local ~/.m2 repo. Yet when I step the debugger into a library file, Intellij does not go to the source.

I can, of course, select the source files, as in the attached image.

But it seems that Intellij should find them automatically -- they are sitting in the standard place, right next to the jar.

How do I make this happen?

  • You need to download the sources and documentation. IDE will link the local repository sources to the libraries.

  • But the source is downloaded. Please see the screenshot. So, why is Intellij not recognizing it?

  • It has to be attached to the library.

  • What do you mean by attached? As you see in the screenshot, source and jatrs are in their usual arrangements in the maven repo--everything is quite standard.

  • This means the sources are attached to the library. Download sources action does it.
