Hive Metastore Failed to Restart in Ambari

0

I have hit a condition where the Hive Metastore is failing to restart on my Name Node. It appears to be related to a space issue as the log states an out of space condition. I see this in the stderr log from Ambari.

Also, the stdout speaks of the hive-site.xml file not matching, which I am unsure if this is a separate issue or a result of the space problem.

As seen in my df command, /dev/sda2 is at 100%, the rest of my directories are healthy.

[kk2465@zlx73416 ~]$ df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda2 20G 20G 20K 100% /

I have included the relevant pieces of my stderr and stdout logs generated in Ambari.

stderr: /var/lib/ambari-agent/data/errors-821.txt

sudo.create_file(path, content, encoding=self.resource.encoding)
File "/usr/lib/ambari-agent/lib/resource_management/core/sudo.py", line 142, in create_file
fp.write(content)
IOError: [Errno 28] No space left on device

stdout: /var/lib/ambari-agent/data/output-821.txt
