Biblatex alphabetic style with 2 words in last name

0

I'm trying to get my biblatex citation as desired.

@article{VdB15,
author={Van der Bierbaum, H.},
title={Some Title},
publisher={Some Publisher},
year={2015},
pages={117-133},
language={English},
}

If I now use it in my text, for example:

More information can be found in cite{VdB15}.

with bibliographystyle{alphabetic} I get:

More information can be found in [Bie15].

But I want the citation to be [VdB15], because this abbreviation is typically used for this article.

Any ideas?

  • Easiest here is to use the shorthand={VdB15} key-value option. See Changing the in text citation for specific entries
