Using React Table to calculate the sum of all amounts in a filtered column

0

I am new to using React and was wondering if it is possible to dynamically display a total amount of a filtered table. I have a column that contains an amount in each row, I want to know if I can get the sum of all amounts (amounts shown in the table before or after filtering) to display outside of the table.

What is the best way to go about this? I have seen mentions of functional rendering or using a ref

const currentRecords = this.selectTable.getResolvedState().sortedData;

Was hoping to use this but since the tables data could change at anytime depending on a number of filters, I'm not sure if this will be updated every time. Where in my code would I need to put this?

<ReactTable
data={reportData}
ref={(r) => {
this.selectTable = r;
}}
filterable
defaultFilterMethod={(filter, row) =>
String(row[filter.id]).toLowerCase().includes(String(filter.value).toLowerCase())
} ...

So I would need to calculate the total amount everytime a filter is applied and display this amount dynamically.
