Microsoft.AspNetCore.Identity available in Asp.net 4.6.1
I am trying to upgrade an existing entity framework 6 (ef6) application to entity framework core (ef core). I am using this post as a reference which is working fine so far: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/ef/efcore-and-ef6/porting/port-code.
However, in my previous ef6 application i am using the following code:
public class DatabaseContext : IdentityDbContext<ApplicationUser>
{
<code ommited>
}
I know that ef core has its own version of IdentityDbContext which lies in Microsoft.AspNetCore.Identity.EntityFrameworkCore;. Is it possible to use Microsoft.AspNetCore.Identity for authentication without upgrading the whole application to asp.net core?
.net-core entity-framework-6 asp.net-identity entity-framework-core .net-4.6
