How to wait for complete Response to load in Rest Assured? Example of Wait command used in Rest Assured API?

How can I wait for Response to load? My call moves to next step before full response is generated.
My tests are failing randomly and I'm unable to understand why on API calls, it gives random failures.
Is it that it moves to next step before Response is fully fetched or is it that Server response is late or anything
I dont want to try thread.sleep(), can anyone suggest a better method or anything that I can use to pass my randomly failing tests
java rest api automation rest-assured

I routinely use Rest-Assured to communicate with and update client servers and most of my call methods rely on a JSON response to extract the necessary data. If the programs halts because the response is null it is always coupled with a bad request code from the server, or a timeout, etc.. I've never actually seen it try to parse the response JSON before getting a response from the server. Can you provide a code sample or more information about whats happening?
