Laravel Project and Laragon Pretty URL Issues

I recently installed laragon on my new PC and copied laravel projects from www folder of laragon on my old machine to the new PC. set up the db and everything is fine. However, I have been battling for nearly 12 hours with pretty url for these projects. The projects are all running but the pretty url is not working for any of them while if I create a new project, the pretty url works perfect. I have checked the hosts file and pretty url is generated for all of them yet the pretty url is not working for any of the old projects. Thus, if I visit project.test, it shows index of / ... then shows all the files in the directory so that I can view them through project.test/public.
Please, can someone help me with a suitable solution? Thank you in advance

May be a server config issue. Did you copy over .htaccess?
