Setting a field in header of a protocol as optional in Wireshark?
I am an absolute newbie when it comes to Wireshark development. I just started making a protocol dissector in C, but the protocol that I am dissecting has many different types of messages and their headers differs in just one field, can I set that field to be optional in any way? If that cannot be done, what are the options to make such a dissector?
Just for reference, I am making a dissector that works on a protocol that sends FIX messages.
