Extend intellisense to execute expressions that can be executed to provide better coverage
I'm using Microsoft's python extension for VS Code. Intellisense is a nice thing to have but it doesn't always work (eg. when it cannot deduce the return type). I was wondering if intellisense could be extended (or maybe there is an option I didn't see) to execute an expression if it cannot get any information otherwise.
Example:
import cv2
x = cv2.SimpleBlobDetector_Params()
In this case the extension doesn't provide any useful information for x
. Why is that?
In such cases, a python instance could be started in the background. Then the necessary modules are imported and the expression that creates (or assigns) x
is executed and analyzed. Of course this doesn't work in more complicated scenarios (eg. when a callable is parameterized).
I thought I'd ask here first before opening an issue on github.
