MongoDB: Build index in background on secondary

0

We have created several indexes on our primary database (MongoDB 3.0.15) without specifying { background: true } for all. How can we accomplish that during replication of this database to a secondary the indexes are built in the background?

According to the docs, there is no way to modify an existing index: https://docs.mongodb.com/v3.0/tutorial/modify-an-index/
