How do I create authenticate with Postman with a pre-request script

0

I am trying to make authenticated requests to an .NET MVC website. This site is using the ValidateAntiForgeryToken attribute. Which means I need to sent matching __RequestVerificationToken values for cookie and form.

The initial value of the __RequestVerificationToken is set when the HttpGet Call is made to the login page. On the subsequent HttpPost with the Username and Password the __RequestVerificationToken is sent.

What I want to do is create a pre-request script for my POSTMAN collection to login before making the call to get the JSON Data. Unfortunately I can not do the following:

  1. The initial HttpGet to the login page is not picking up the cookie value when I call the:

     pm.sendRequest(pm.variables.get("homeaddress") + "/Account/Login", function (err, response) {
    console.log(response);
    console.log(response.cookies.count()); //0
    console.log(response.cookies[0]); //null
    console.log(response.cookies["__RequestVerificationToken"]); //null
    console.log(response.toJSON());

    });

  2. Take the cookie value returned and use this to set a variable for the call to login with a username, password, and __RequestVerificationToken.

  3. Make the authenticated call I actually want to make.

NOTE: I am using the out of the box authentication on the .NET MVC side.
