Single controller design in flask framework

0

We have different modules in our application which we categorized into each folder which holds the controller logic and model communication.

We have different controller for each module of the application by using Flask
Blueprint and register the Blueprint in main file. Say like this,

app/
dashboard/
dashboard_controller.py
profile/
profile_controller.py
main.py

Main.py contains

app = Flask(__name__)
app.register_blueprint(dashboard_api)
app.register_blueprint(profile_api)
app.run()

We are planning to change the design by having single controller file instead of having controller file for each separate modules in application and route the URL to respective function.

Please help on the design here and is it possible to achieve this kind of design in python Flask framework.

Thanks

  • It's quite hard to answer your question as understanding and implementation of a controller differs from app to app. Overall, I think it's possible (and even advisable in certain cases) to have a single controller for a multiple separated modules (i.e. blueprints).
