Parallax Films was founded by Ian Herring in 1996 to produce a special brand of content to explore the world of science and history for Canadian and international audiences. The team combines powerful storytelling with unprecedented visuals to provide the audience with experiences that stimulate the mind and captivate the senses. Parallax Film Productions has delivered more than fifty-five hours of factual and dramatic programs to broadcasters all over the world and produces content in HD and 3D for multiple media platforms and films all new projects in UHD.
Exclusive footage includes sinking, and later retrieving, cameras on scuttled vessels,[4][5][6] using high speed cameras to film explosive demolition at 300+ frames per second[7][8][9] and mounting cameras on buildings to capture intricate details of implosions.[10][11]
Parallax Film documentaries have aired on several networks including Discovery Channels (US, Canada and International), National Geographic Channels (US, Canada and International), History Channel (US), Channel 4 (UK), FIVE (UK), DMAX (Germany), RAI (Italy), TV Asahi (Japan), PBS NOVA and Nature and History Television (Canada).[12]

Hell Below is an event-based series charting the stealth game of subsea warfare, tracking the dramatic narrative from contact to attack of the greatest submarine patrols of World War II. Currently airing on The Smithsonian Channel in the US.[13]

The Nature of Things: The Eagles Next Door
The Eagles Next Door is an episode in CBC’s series The Nature of Things. The Eagles Next Door captures the phenomenon of the Bald Eagle coming back from the brink of extinction and reveals how many of the birds have taken up residence in the suburbs of Vancouver.
Bahama Blue
Bahama Blue is a six-part television series that aired on Love Nature in Canada. Captured in 4k cinematography, combined with intimate aerials, extraordinary macro photography and signature ‘tide lapses’ Bahama Blue is this Bahamas beyond the beaches.

Blowdown
Blowdown, a documentary series about explosive demolition, airs on History Television in Canada and National Geographic Channels International.[14] Blowdown follows Controlled Demolition, Inc., of Phoenix, Maryland[15] as they prepare and implode modern megastructures.[16]
The next Blowdown demolition is scheduled for August 2010: CDI plans to implode a stadium in Brazil to make way for a new FIFA World Cup host facility.[17] Parallax Film will shoot, cut and deliver the entire show in 3D for international broadcast.
