locationManagerDidPauseLocationUpdates not called after update to iOS 12

0

I have a location tracking app which uses geofence and significant location updates to bring the app to life when there is motion, even when it is killed.

Before iOS 12 whenever the user-stopped/motion-stopped, I used to get the delegate call back in locationManagerDidPauseLocationUpdates and It was killed by OS after 15 mins of time. Now even after the motion is not there it stays in background. Because of this the battery stats in the iOS settings show that my app was in background for almost 12 hours after the motion stopped.

I am thinking of starting significant location updates when I deduce that motion is stopped. May be after that app will be killed by OS.

Is there a better way to do this?
