Using DropDownSelection as a query string instead of dropdown selection

I know the title sounds weird, but I can't seem to find my answer.
I have a gridview that changes to the selected product upon ddl.selected value. This all works fine and refreshes, but now I need to have each product (4 in total) to be accessed through a query string instead of the dropdownlist... The DDL selections do not go to another page, but they refresh the data on the same page... Can I create query string to all four products to be able to type in a URL and get each selection depending on the query string? Hope this makes sense.
