Using simple debug console instead of terminal in VS Code

0

I have been very happy running my scripts (Python) in VS Code 1.4. with Ctrl+Shift+B, the program built and ran and the output was cleanly displayed in the Debug Console window (nothing else but output was displayed and the no other output tab was present).

hello

Now I migrated to the new version of VS Code and the result is that the output is displayed in the Terminal tab and the output is cluttered with the Execution Task and Press any key messages.

> Executing task: python /home/myusername/Documents/my_script.py <

hello

Press any key to close the terminal.

The output still appears in the Debug Console, however, the default window is Terminal. How can I fix Debug Console as my default output tab and get back the good, old output format?
